THERE HAS been a steady stream of Labour big hitters in the borough over the past few weeks. We have seen Ed Miliband, Ed Balls, Caroline Flint, Rachel Reeves to name just a few. There are two ways of looking at that: some critics illustrate that Labour must be “worried” whilst others see it as part of a highly orchestrated campaign to gain overall control of key seats such as Thurrock, Harlow, Plymouth, Derby etc.
Shadow business secretary, Chuka Umunna was in Thurrock a few months ago promoting Labour’s pledge for jobs and growth. On a Tuesday afternoon, he was amongst the shoppers in Ockendon as Labour put the final touches on their attempts to secure outright victory in the local elections.

Another one of the Blair Youth!
I Cannot stand this man
Who is he??? never really heard of him to be honest, a bit like most of the opposition party….
So what is so important about Thurrock that requires the Labour party to send down their front benchers, this is a local election not a national one so what the heck do these people know about what the local problems are.
The majority of the Labour party opposition that I have seen do not seem to offer any alternatives to what is already happening in the country let alone what is happening on our own doorstep.
A bigger question is why aren’t any Conservative Politicians coming down to campaign for the Conservatives in Thurrock?
