FIREFIGHTERS wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to tackle a fire in a mid terraced property in Tamarisk Road, South Ockendon.
Crews arrived at the scene at 1pm on Monday and reported that the first floor was heavily smoke logged.
The fire was out by 13:57 hrs. Firefighters used a high pressure fan to clear the two storey property of smoke.
We have no information relating to the cause at this stage.
