THURROCK COUNCIL IS looking to recruit Thurrock people to take part in the “Sparks Will Fly” Summer Carnival parade which will be part of the T-Fest Weekend.
The Summer carnival parade will set off from Hawkes Close Car Park in New Road at 12 noon on Sunday 3rd June and process to T-fest at Grays Beach Riverside Park. (a route of about a mile)
It will be led by the very colourful Jugnu Bhangra Group and the amazing Boreas Zephyr, the animatronic puppet Giant Champion who will be collecting the Thurrock Glass Bead from the Mayor of Thurrock.
The Thurrock bead is being magically constructed at a secret location by local artist Lata Upadhyaya.
At Grays Beach there will be a 30 minute show featuring Boreas and “Walk The Plank” theatre company, then you are most welcome to stay and enjoy a fantastic T- Fest afternoon of live music and entertainments.
If you would like to join in with the parade you will be most welcome – you can walk, be pushed or pull or come on your roller skates so long as you are not powered.
Bring a picnic if you like, but no glass bottles please and there will be lots of stalls selling exotic foods on site.
There is a police limit of 1000 people in the parade so if you represent a group please let us know so we place you at the front of the parade. The roads close briefly at 11.45am so you need to be there by 11am for good measure and to lap up the atmosphere.
T-Fest always has brilliant sunny weather so I know you will have a good time and its ALL FREE!!!.
