Heartbreak for Stanford couple as wedding and honeymoon fund stolen

POLICE are appealing for information after a couple have been left devastated after their wedding plans and honeymoon fund was stolen in a burglary in Havis Road, Stanford-le-Hope.

Between 10.40pm on Tuesday, May 22 and 5.40am the next day, a suspect gained entry through a rear door and stole an estimated £1,350 worth of items including cash, a blue HP laptop, keys, a wallet and a bag. One of the victims, a man in his 30s, was asleep upstairs with his 7 month old daughter whilst the suspects committed the burglary.

Investigating officer, Pc Adam Stallard, said: “It is devastating enough to have your home broken into, but this couple not only had funds they had saved for their honeymoon stolen, but they also had their laptop taken which contained all of their plans for their wedding this summer. They are absolutely devastated and lost without all the information for the wedding.

“We desperately want to get their property back, so I would appeal to the conscience of anyone that knows who did this to come forward to police so we can return their property to them. If whoever did this is reading this, I would plead with them to hand the laptop in. These are two hard working people who have been planning for the most important day of their lives and they need this laptop back so their day is not ruined.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Pc Adam Stallard at the Thurrock target offender team on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
