FIRE crews were called to a fire in a fish and chip shop in King Street in Stanford-le-Hope at 6pm on Friday night.
The fire was in the extraction system located in the hood and behind an access panel.
Crews wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reels and dry powder to extinguish the fire by 19:46hrs.
A 48 year old woman suffered from smoke inhalation and was placed in the care of the Ambulance Service.
