Gable Hall sixth formers selected for olympics

Students at Stanford & Corringham Sixth Form Centre, Isabelle Hetherington, Rosie Unwin and Reneé Douwuna Ocran, have been selected to perform at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics 2012.

The girls have already started their rehearsals and are looking forward to the big event.

Isobel Wood who is studying Music, English, Maths and History at the Sixth Form has also successfully auditioned to be an Essex Ambassador for the Olympics 2012.

This will involve providing information and guidance on the Games events, transport queries and general tourist information at the main transport hubs across Essex.

It will also involve supporting spectators at events leading up to the Games such as the Essex‘Sparks Will Fly’ cultural festival, the Olympic Torch Relay and the Hadleigh Farm Olympic Mountain Bike competitions. The transport hubs will be at all the major train stations, i.e. Colchester, Chelmsford, Shenfield, Harwich
Port, Southend Airport and Stansted Airport.

Isobel’s training will take place between April and June in readiness for this huge event.
