Grays man set for court as police drink-driving campaign intensifies

As the force’s summer drink-drive awareness and clampdown continues, some motorists continue to consume alcohol while driving. These are the latest four to have been arrested and charged with drink-driving. They are due to appear at magistrates courts across the county in the next few weeks:

A 26-year-old man from Grays was stop-checked by officers at 5am Tuesday, June 5 on Springhouse Lane in Purfleet. He has been released on police bail prior to his appearance at Basildon Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 21.

A 52-year-old man from Wickford was stopped by officers shortly before 11:30pm on Monday, June 4 after he crashed his car on the A12 at Marks Tey. He too has been released on police bail prior to his appearance at Colchester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, July 3.

A 22-year-old man from Braintree was stopped by officers shortly before 5:30am on Tuesday, June 5 after crashing his car on the A131 at Great Leighs. He has been released on police bail prior to his appearance at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Wednesday, June 20.

A 30-year-old man from Harlow was stopped by officers at 10:30pm on Monday, June 4 after being involved in a collision on the B183 at Hatfield Broad Oak. He has been released on police bail prior to his appearance at Colchester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, July 3.
