Grays Loyalty Card scheme success

THE recently launched Grays Loyalty Card scheme has proved a big hit with local shoppers. In the month since it was launched almost 1,500 cards have already been snapped up.

The latest business to join the scheme, Choice Discount Store, who are located in the High Street, are offering a 10 per cent discount to shoppers using the loyalty card.

Nikki Kaur, Franchisee of the Specsavers branch in Grays, and a co-sponsor of the Grays loyalty card is delighted with the initial feedback. Nikki said: “As one of the distribution points for the Grays loyalty card, we have people coming in every day specifically asking for a card, so word is certainly getting around about the scheme.

“Whilst we are still in the early days of the scheme we have already enjoyed new customers visiting us due to our offer of a free eye test and are confident that things will build more and more over the course of time”.

Cllr Andy Smith, Thurrock Council’s cabinet member for regeneration, said: “The scheme really does seem to have taken off. We are so pleased with the initial response that we are now writing to more businesses in and around Grays inviting them to take part – for which there is no cost to the business – and if that proves successful we may even look at extending the scheme throughout the borough.”

Stuart Hopkins, Managing Director of My Loyalty Card – the company behind the scheme is also very pleased with the first results. Stuart said: “All sponsors have worked together with myself as a team to make this the success that it so far has been in Grays. Cards are being snapped up quickly, businesses are reporting good feedback, and we’re only a month in. It can only get better!
