GABLE HALL, St Clere’s and the Gateway Academy were among the three Thurrock schools given a cash boost by Proctor and Gamble.
As part of their sponsorship for the Olympic Games in London this month, the schools gathered at the West Thurrock base to accept their awards.
The Gable Hall PE Department recently entered a competition set up by Proctor & Gamble. Schools were asked to present a project that could be funded by a generous community donation from P&G.
Gable Hall presented a bid for a set of heart rate monitors and analysis software to be used in GCSE PE and with our extra-curricular teams. Pupils, staff, parents and the public then voted online to decide upon the winner.
1st Prize of £3000 – Gable Hall
2nd Prize of £2000 – St. Clere’s
3rd Prize of £1000 – Gateway
Special mention should go to Daniel Fatomide (Year 10) of Gable Hall for promoting the competition to the pupils and PE teacher, Miss Boyling for setting up the voting system in Gable Hall.
