Firefighters tackled a fire in a Scout hut in Cromwell Road, Grays.
The officer in charge reports that the building – which measures 10 metres by four metres was 100% alight at around 2am on Saturday morning.
Crews used four main jets and two hose reel jets to tackle the fire.
