THE FETE “season” is always an interesting time of year for outsiders because you can see first hand how a primary school binds a community together. We could get political here and wonder it Ofsted ever take such events into consideration? Or indeed, do primary schools invite them.
The St Josephs fete on Scratton Road in Stanford-le-Hope is always a very welcoming event and in many ways it embodies the personality of the welcoming headteacher, Mrs Lakin.
