Olympic lanes could cause headaches for Thurrock drivers

THURROCK DRIVERS commuting into London will need to contend with the Olympic lanes which opened up at 6am this morning (Wednesday).
Those who flout the lanes could face fines of £130.

The lanes are for  athletes, Olympic officials and VIPs  with 1,300 vehicles an hour expected to use them.

The lanes will stay in place from 6am to midnight on each day up to Tuesday August 14 and will form part of a 109-mile Olympic Route Network (ORN) around London.

The lanes are expected to cause problems on the A13 where changes to the traffic lights could cause hold ups at key junctions into the city.
