Man charged following Ice Cream Van attack

A MAN has been charged with three offences following an assault at Grays.

Police were contacted shortly before 1:30pm on Wednesday, July 25 after an incident off Thames Road.

Officers arrived and found a 29-year-old man from Tottenham, north London with head, arm and leg injuries. An ice-cream van had also been damaged.

Three people were later arrested in connection with the incident.

Danny Trigg, 23, of Danbury Crescent, South Ockendon, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, assault by beating and criminal damage. He was due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court this morning, Friday July 27.

A 48-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman both from Great Warley, were bailed until September 14 pending further enquiries.
