Dennis is a menace on the Crown to Crown

In spite of their label as a fun run the Crown to Crown events attract fields of at least 150 throughout the summer months and frequently some top quality runners.

In the latest edition, held last Wednesday, 180 started including several Harriers. Dennis Cross was always to the fore and by half way he had taken a good lead. On tough last one mile, all uphill, he held on to win by 13 seconds.

14 year old Gary Cahill can be delighted with his 3rd place. Under the watchful eye of Brenda Stone he is improving steadily and should do well over the country throughout the winter.

This weekend the women take part in the next round of their cross country season by undertaking the long journey to Bournemouth.

At the time of writing Crown to Crown winner Dennis Cross is the leading entrant in Mel Batty 10K to be held on Sunday 26th August.
