Sunday 19 August saw Revd. Brian Duckworth, the Rector of the Parish of St. Nicholas in South Ockendon, give his final service.
After many years, he has made the difficult decision to retire and will shortly be moving to another part of the country.
Revd. Duckworth has touched the lives of many families in Thurrock, conducting weddings, funerals and christenings as well as supporting people in times of need.
His final service was the christening of Gracie Quincey, from South Ockendon. Parents, god parents, friends and family packed out St. Nicholas church to witness an emotional service.
