The Rotary Club of Thurrock Gateway has joined forces with Rotarians worldwide in a mission to abolish the World’s water crisis by supporting the Rotary’s ‘Global Run 4 Water’ campaign.
Currently, 2.5 billion people (1 million of them being children) do not have access to clean, safe water for drinking or cleaning. As a result, every 20 seconds, a child dies of poor sanitation. Therefore, the Rotary’s ‘Global Run 4 Water’ campaign aims to raise $1million from Rotary clubs worldwide organising sponsored running events.
On Sunday 14th October 2012, the Rotary Club of Thurrock Gateway has organised a 5 mile run or 3 mile walk in aid of the ‘Global Run 4 Water’ campaign. Entrants will set off from Beacon Field, Dry Street, Laindon Hills, at 1pm. Entry forms and further information can be found on www.rotarythurrockgateway.org. All sponsorship money raised from the event will be donated towards the Rotary’s ‘Global Run 4 Water’ collection to support worldwide water projects.
