THEY DO SAY, write about what you know and so it seemed no surprise that many of the year nine Grays school students wrote poems that described life up on Grays high street.
Their poems published in a book entitled ‘Poems from Essex’ in a series called ‘Express Yourself Through Poetry’ published by Peterborough based publishers Young Writers.
Here are Eve Clayton, Brooke Mensah, Harry Pacey and Joshua Michael-Ihunde reciting their poems.
It seemed appropriate to publish the film on a day when WH Smith announced that they would be shutting their store on the high street.
Like it or not, for many people, when you say Thurrock, they judge it on Grays High Street.
It is hoped that the Grays regeneration team may come down to the school to discuss the concerns with the pupils.
