IT HAS BEEN a real pleasure to interview a number of the police candidates over the last few weeks.
On Thursday, we interviewed Linda Belgrove.
Linda has vast experience on the Essex Police Authority and then and now has always been seen as a voice of reason.
Linda undertook a number of joint issues including crime detection rates, with the then member of the Essex Police Authority, cllr Wendy Herd who Linda was highly impressed with.
Linda said: “I am a former Independent Member of Essex Police Authority serving until recently as Vice-Chair.
“I have not been – and will not be influenced by any political party. The only influence of interest to me will be the opinions of the people of Essex – including Police Officers and Police Staff.
“I appreciate the value of volunteers in the fight against crime – the Special Constabulary, Neighbourhood Watch, Neighbourhood Action Panels, Community Speedwatch, Residents Associations. Victim Support is vital and I know the benefits of partnership working.”
