FIVE CHILDREN and their mother were made homeless after fire swept through their house in Grays.
The fire occurred at 4pm on Saturday afternoon in Rookwood Close, Grays.
Crews were called to the fire in a three storey end of terrace property. Two of the storeys were heavily smoke logged. Crews wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reels to extinguish the fire by 16:49hrs.
A thermal image camera was used to check for any hotspots and a high pressured fan was used to clear the property free of smoke.
