Colchester 1 v 2 Thurrock
THURROCK started out the better of the two teams creating alot of early opportunities with Dan O’Shaughnessy and Jak Taylor missing from close range
Thurrock then gave away a silly short corner which Colchester converted to put the home side one ahead. Thurrock continued to battle and was rewarded with a converted short corner themselves when Declan Millane poached a Tommy Ing shot.
The T’s then turned the screw attacking hard against a very strong Colchester team and was rewarded with another Dec Millane cool finish.
The second half was a different matter. Colchester piled the pressure on for 35min and with some poor umpiring decisions Thurrock were under the cosh!!
But the solid defence of Andy Sargeant, Luke Danbrook, keeper Danny Hick and Man of the Match Thomas Ing held strong to see the game out 1 -2.
