THE THURROCK African Group celebrated Black History Month with a dazzling mixture of dance, poetry, rap and song at the Thameside Theatre.
The Mayor of Thurrock, cllr Yash Gupta was among the revellers and he was joined by the portfolio holder for communities, cllr Lynn Worrall.
Chair of Thurrock African Group, Bukky Okunade said: “I am indeed very happy that we had a very successful Black History Month celebration. The Thameside Theatre was jam-packed; people of all ages and backgrounds were in attendance.
“The feedback we have received have been extremely positive. Thanks to P&O Ferries, Lakeside Shopping Centre Management, New Naira Restaurant, and Yem Yom Ventures Ltd who donated raffle prizes and refreshments.
“
I really praise the hard-work of Rosemary Ajuwon and a team of colleagues within TAG and the Council’s Equality and Diversity Team for the effective planning of the event.”











This means absolutely nothing to Jo Public. It is not about diversity or equality. It has nothing to do with the wider community or cohesion of communities. If this was in Libya, these people would be called seperatists.
