Attempt robbery in Scratton Road, Stanford

POLICE have appealed for information after an attempted robbery in Stanford-le-Hope.

The incident happened at Scratton Road at about 8.50pm on Sunday, October 28.

The victim, a local man in his 20s, was walking home when he was pushed from behind and ordered to hand over his mobile telephone.

The attacker then twice punched the victim in the face before running off when he saw another man approaching the scene. The victim was then able to run off to raise the alarm.

Police have asked the third man to come forward as they believe he was an important witness but he left the scene before officers arrived.
