Meet the cop-watchers at Thurrock’s Independent Advisory Group

LEARN about the important role of Thurrock’s independent advisory group (IAG) to the police at its annual meeting on Wednesday, 14 November.

Thurrock’s IAG provides independent advice to Essex Police to ensure all communities benefit from a fair and non-discriminatory police service.

IAG Chair Neil Woodbridge said: “The key role of the group is to build the community’s trust and confidence, promote community cohesion and the reporting of hate crime. Members provide a voice to allow the community to talk to the Police and we actively encourage new members to join us.”

Thurrock’s safeguarding adult champion Graham Carey will deliver a presentation on Hate Crime at Wednesday’s meeting and there will also be a question and answer session with Neil Woodbridge and Essex Police Inspector Neil Barrett.

The AGM is in Committee Room 1, Civic Offices, New Road, Grays from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and includes a light buffet.
