THE SPORTING community of Ockendon came together recently to celebrate the opening of the new Veolia Markdyke pavilion.
Boosted by investment from the Veoila Markdyke Trust, the pavilion will now help the Recreation ground, tucked away behind St Nicholas’ church, become the focal point for sport in the area.
The chair of the Trust and Thurrock MP, Jackie Doyle-Price, opened the pavilion.
