The Grays School Media Arts College saluted the examination and academic performance of the class of 2012 at their annual presentation evening on Tuesday 13th November. The school presented current and former students with their GCSE certificates and awarded special trophies for individual success in a range of academic areas.

Over four hundred guests attended the evening including the Mayor, Yash Gupta. The Guest of Honour, Lord Petre, Lord Lieutenant of Essex, made a very entertaining speech.

The evening celebrated the hard work of the school’s students throughout the academic year. Acting Head Teacher, John Marchant, said “It is always a pleasure to recognise young people’s positive achievements and to celebrate with them, especially since so many of the young people here tonight have given up their time and effort to champion their school and community, as well as working for their own successes.” Mr Marchant ended the evening with a quote from Winston Churchill: “We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give”.
