THURROCK Council’s Stanford Children’s Centre is offering new sessions for families who have, or are expecting, twins or triplets.
The first “Twins Plus Group” took place on Thursday 6 December at the children’s centre based in Copland Road, Stanford-le-Hope.
Meeting in a safe and relaxed environment, the sessions are the perfect opportunity for families to join together to share their experiences, support each other and have some fun.
The idea formed after a request from a parent, Sharon Rowlatt, who attended the Parent Forum at the centre and was impressed with the facilities on offer – she thought it would be an ideal place to launch the sessions.
Through regular contact the group will provide opportunities for children and families to make new friends while enjoying other aspects of the children’s centre programme.
Meetings take place monthly and the next session will be on the Thursday 3 January 2013.
Sharon said: “The group is a great place to just drop in if you are expecting twins, triplets or even more! I know that multiple births are very special, but they also present their own unique challenges.
“It is relaxed and you don’t have to worry if you’re running behind or can’t stay long. It’s just a nice place where you have the opportunity to meet other mums and dads in the same situation as you who are nice and friendly. I would definitely go again”
