PARENTS were asked earlier this term for feedback on The Ockendon Academy when they were sent a questionnaire giving them the chance to tell us what they thought about the Academy. The Academy used the Ofsted Parent View questionnaire which invites parents to give their opinion on 12 aspects of their child’s school, from quality of teaching, to dealing with bullying and poor behaviour.
We were delighted with the volume of responses with a staggering 449 questionnaires being completed and returned to us, making a return of 47%.
Once again the feedback reflected the high opinion that many parents hold of the Academy. Ninety-nine percent agreed or strongly agreed that; the school was safe; that their children were well looked after; well taught; that the school is well led and managed; that they receive valuable information about their child’s progress and they would recommend the school. Other questions scored similarly highly from 96% upwards agreeing and strongly agreeing to the Ofsted statements.
Miss Hutcheson, Vice Principal commented, “We would like to thank parents and carers for taking the time to give their views which are very important to us. We are constantly reviewing that we are ‘being the best we can be’ for our students’ education and well-being.”
I wonder what a staff survey would reveal…especially if true anonymity was guaranteed?!
I know the truth hurts,,,but I dare you Babs, I dare you!
