LOOKING TO start the New Year with a health kick or even better, a health pedal?
Then join the Gateway Cycling New Year’s Day cycle.
This is a steady paced recreational type ride along flat cycle paths, through country parkland and linking up onto the River Thames.
It’s an ideal outing for all the family so do please encourage everyone to come along – including of course friends and neighbours. It’s about ten to fifteen miles. (Children of 16 or under must be accompanied by a relevant adult).
They are meeting at 10.15am and leaving at 10.30, Tuesday 1st January 2013, from Davy Down Pumping Station, off Pilgrims Lane, Grays.
It’s a well signed location and there’s plenty of parking space and the toilet facilities will be open for us.
They are heading for the RSPB centre at Purfleet and if you like you can stop there for a cuppa and a sticky cake.
However they usually continue on alongside the marsh then loop back around pedalling alongside the historic river Thames, then have their cuppa and cake.
As always with our recreational rides there’s plenty of chat and banter and good cheer along the way.
Both the charities of the Mardyke Trust at Davy Down and the folk at the RSPB at Purfleet have always been most accommodating to the Gateway Club so do please feel free, to show your appreciation, with a donation to their collection tins.
