PEOPLE who have suffered a stroke are being asked to come along to Basildon University Hospital to attend a “Shaping Stroke Services” event.
The Trust needs to recruit patients and carers with experience of stroke for a user group, which will help shape and improve the services we offer to stroke patients. The “Shaping Stroke Services” event will explain more about the group, what it involves and how it will be instrumental in helping redesign the services on offer for future patients. If successful, the group will work to influence services on a local, regional and possibly even a national level.
The event will also be your chance to meet the staff responsible for local patient services, including those from the stroke unit, community rehabilitation staff and local consultants, and ask any questions you may have.
Simon Landergan, Operational Manager for Stroke, said: “We want to offer the best service we can but we need the experience and advice of our patients to do so. Once set up, the group will draw on the valuable experience and knowledge of patients and carers to help us make changes to our services and ensure the care we provide exceeds patients’ expectations.”
The event is being held on Monday 28 January between 12 noon and 2.30pm, in the Education Centre at Basildon University Hospital. Lunch and refreshments will be provided, plus there is free parking for those who confirm attendance beforehand.
