Victoria can’t help acting on Impulse!

CHRISTMAS is over, the New Year resolutions are forgotten and in the past, but Thurrock Council’s portfolio Holder for Environment says this is the time to be strong-willed and to go for it.

Cllr Victoria Holloway has taken up gym membership with the council’s partner – Impulse Leisure – and was at the Blackshots gym on Thursday (11 January).

She said: “There are loads of free classes at Impulse and you don’t even need to be a member to take part.

“The council’s partners are supporting our aim of encouraging people to get and stay healthy and active – so there are a variety of different offers in January.”

The offers include joining selected gym memberships with no joining fee – although the sessions will have a cost – and swimming season tickets with unlimited swimming for £22 per month.

Impulse also has new outdoor boot camp sessions and other offers range from power plate to baby yoga.

Cllr Holloway added: “It doesn’t really matter what you do to get active, just as long as you do it.

“Whether you go to the gym or go for a walk or perhaps fancy doing something more sporty, or more daring there are lots of opportunities across the borough to get involved.”
