Aveley 3 v 1 Ware
AVELEY reinforced their play off credentials with an emphatic 3-1 victory against Ware at Millfield.
Aveley had defied the weather to get the match started. The club should be commended for a marvellous job.
Ware conceded a free kick in the 1st minute with a foul n the edge of the box but the kick sailed harmlessly over the bar.
A minute later, Junior Dadson had a shot well blocked by the Ware keeper.
The game got a little bogged down in midfield until the 19th minute when Jordan Cox’s lovely flicked header from close range went into the net.
Cox was a bundle of trouble with great movement and understanding with his players.
Another example was in the 23rd minute when he released Junior Appiah on the right. Appiah should have done better as his crossed floated over the bar.
Aveley had the ball in the net on the half hour as Junior Appiah tapped in at the far post but it was disaalowed offside.
The game was not totally one sided as Ande Foster did well to save from point blank range from Charlie Moxon.
Aveley increased their lead on the stroke of half time when a 20 yard shot from Rashid Kamara took a wicked deflection.
Jordan Cox grabbed his second in the 54th minute after mazy dribble down the middle of the pitch saw the ball fall loose to Cox who threaded it through the keeper and in.
Things got even worse for woeful Ware when Martin Standen was given his marching orders for raising his hands to Aveley’s Teddy Nesbitt.
Cox could have made it a hat-trick in the 68th minute when he made a lovely timed run into the area, tried to lift the ball over the keeper but the keeper made a great finger tip save.
And Ware grabbed a goal back in the 75th minute when Tim Shaw nipped in to score.
The Millers now go on to Chadfields for an exciting derby against Tilbury on Tuesday night.
