ON Saturday a handful of young Harriers competed at Lee Valley in the South East Pentathlon. They all worked really hard throughout the course of the day and enjoyed an exhausting and challenging day.
Seniz Jessiner really pushed herself during her 1st competition with solid performances in high jump (1.26m) and long jump (3.61m). Liam Barnard ran a great 60m hurdles with a personal best time of 11.34s. Liam also ran an extremely gutsy 800m and another pb of 2:50.86s.
Beth James gained a new long jump pb of 4.52m as did Elena March with her jump of 3.98m. Both girls showed true strength of character throughout the day and pleased coaches with their commitment during each event.
Charlie Splarn overcame his high jump block with a 1.20m scissor jump just 1cm shy of his personal best. James Pearson also came away with personal best performances. His high jump pb finally improved to 1.65m and a new 60m hurdles pb of 8.93s. James came 3rd in the U15B Pentathlon and came away with the bronze medal.
