OVER 50 people from 40 organisations attended a Creative Networking event at the Thameside Theatre on 12th February.
Organised by Thurrock International Celebration of Culture (TICC) – a community development and event planning group working together to tackle a range of issues – delegates had presentations from South Essex College, The Royal Opera House, Creative and Cultural Skills, Thurrock Council and Chelmsford City Street Diversions, before breaking into consultation groups.
The results will be fed into a bid for lottery funding to develop an annual summer arts festival for Thurrock starting this July.
Mayor Of Thurrock cllr Yash Gupta commented that there is much talent and energy in Thurrock that deserves to be show cased in the festival programme.
