MPS from Senegal visited the UK as guests of the British Parliament. Amongst the delegates were the leader of the opposition and the vice chairman of the Public Accounts committee. The visit is part of a programme of visits organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union which take place throughout the year to improve bilateral relationships between nations.
As part of their programme the MPs spent the day in Thurrock. Jackie took the MPs to Tilbury power station, Orsett Hall Garden Restaurant and Palmer’s College.
Jackie said, “As a Member of Parliament I am also an ambassador for Thurrock and I am always proud to showcase the best of the borough. I was pleased to be able to show our visitors the world’s largest dedicated biomass power station, a first class restaurant and our excellent 6th form college. I would particularly like to thank the students at Palmers for engaging with our visitors and I know that they were very impressed with everything they saw.”
