LAKESIDE’S recent changes worked a wonder as they steamrollered Coventry 55-40 in the Elite League at Purfleet and move level on points with fourth-placed Swindon.
Sebastian Ulamek won three races on his debut and Lewis Bridger picked up 13 points in a powerful display from the home side, whilst the Bees were totally reliant on Krzysztof Kasprzak’s huge 20-point haul having gone into the meeting without skipper Scott Nicholls (foot injury).
Hammers boss Neil Vatcher said told a newspaper: “Seb came here last year as a visiting rider and had three wins, so we knew he can ride Lakeside really well and we are very pleased to bring him in. We feel he can do a good job for us.
“The win at Poole about three weeks ago has turned the season around, and the confidence in the team has gone sky-high. We didn’t really click at the start but now things are looking really good.”
