WILMOTT Dixon Partnerships is asking small-medium businesses and sole traders in the Thurrock area if they’d like the opportunity to work with the leading social housing repairs and maintenance contractor.

The company is holding a ‘drop-in’ day for building trades professionals on Thursday June 13 at the Park Inn by Radisson, High Road, Thurrock. It is also inviting 16-25 year olds to call in to talk about the possibility of taking up apprenticeships.

Willmott Dixon Partnerships Managing Director, Mick Williamson, said: “We operate large-scale repairs and maintenance contracts throughout the UK and aim to bring lasting local benefits wherever we work. We are holding the drop-in day so that we can develop an effective supply chain in the Thurrock area. This can bring all round benefits – enabling us to use skilled local people while providing new business and possibly new jobs with the individuals and organisations we work with.

“As part of our policy of leaving a lasting legacy in areas where we work we also aim to provide apprenticeships which will help young local people to learn trades that will benefit them and their communities for life.”

He added that the supply chain event is aimed at small-medium businesses specialising in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry and multi-skilled operations – or individuals who are self-employed in these fields.

Mr Williamson added: “Anyone interested can drop in at any time from 7am to 7pm for a friendly chat and to register their details. We hope to see many local trades people and those interested in building trades apprenticeships.”

Willmott Dixon is one of the UK’s largest privately-owned construction, regeneration and support services companies.

With 160 years of experience, the company provides services within the built environment to Government, registered social landlords, local authorities and private sector clients throughout the UK.

Willmott Dixon Partnerships works within the Group to deliver repair and maintenance services to over 170,000 homes and 1,200 public properties across the UK.
