THE INDEPENDENT POLICE Complaints Commission (IPCC) has launched an inquiry after a serving fire officer was found dead at his Colchester home, after being interviewed by Essex Police.
Martin Sibley, 48, Keymer Way, Colchester has spent part of his 24-year career as a fire officer at the Tilbury and Grays fire stations.
Father-of-two Martin Sibley, 48, was found dead at his home on Monday.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesperson for Essex Police stated: “A man in his forties was found dead in Colchester. The circumstances are not being treated as suspicious. A report has been sent to the coroner.
“As the man had been spoken to shortly before his death, the IPCC has been contacted.
A facebook site pays a number of tributes to Mr Sibley. He is described as a “consummate professional and a devoted father.” and a “fantastic guy who will be missed by many.”
