  1. Wow “Local Residents subsidise National Post Office shock”. Shouldn’t post office subsidies come through national taxes not council tax? Soon the council will be able to appoint its own auditors and anything will go, but until then can the Audit Commission investigate this post office deal?
Post Office had had enough, didn’t want to pay a fair rent for a place of their own, WHS couldnt run it and had enough of Grays anyway.
This arrangement better be only be until the post office is privatised next year. Otherwise it will be the even worse “Local Residents subsidise private company”. The private post office company will only want to shut even more post offices anyway.
