ON SATURDAY, there is a Family Fun Day at Bulphan Village Hall and Park, organised jointly by Bulphan School PTA and Bulphan Village Community Forum. It comprises the PTA’s annual summer fete, and the celebration of Bulphan Recreation Ground’s new status as a Queen Elizabeth II Field in Trust. This means it is permanently protected with a Royal Charter, as a recreational space.
Naomi Cooper from Bulphan Village Community Forum and Thurrock Council worked with Fields in Trust to dedicate Bulphan’s recreation ground as a green space for the community under the Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge. This was part of the celebrations for the Diamond Jubilee, London Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as the 2014 Commonwealth Games. We are very proud to be a part of this.
In celebration of gaining protected status with Fields in Trust, Lord Petre’s representative, Mr. Peter Mamelok, will be unveiling the beautiful commemorative plaque at 3.30pm.
From 1pm there will be opportunities to enjoy all the fun activities available: inflatables, fun water faces, mini football tournament, coconut shy, face-painting/glitter tattoos, throw the welly, hog roast, refreshments, beer tent, ice cream, raffle (which includes an amazing first prize – £1,000 furniture voucher donated by Harveys the furniture store).
There will also be a performance by JTD dance school, an It’s a knockout competition and tug-of-war, and a magician.
