THURROCK Unsighted Peoples Society (T.U.P.S.) is changing its name. Ken Moore (Action on Hearing Loss) will be joining them to form Thurrock Blind and Deaf Group (B.A.D.) a sensory group for the sight and hearing impaired people of Thurrock.
They offer advice and help from the foyer of the Thameside Complex (Library) in Orsett Road Grays on the 1st Wednesday of every month from 12noon to 2pm.
They also run a social club (Socialise) for the blind and hearing impaired on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month at the Hall Frederick Andrews Court Sheltered Housing Complex Silverlock Rd Grays RM17 6EA from 10am to 12noon.
To celebrate their new format, they are having a re launch party at the Frederick Andrews Court Social Hall on Monday 29th July from 10am to 12noon.
Come along for a cake, cuppa and a chat.
Jo Hall Sensory Development Worker for Thurrock Council and Tracy Cross, Thurrock Council Rehab Worker, will be on hand to give advice and information.
Also Ian Evans (Thurrock Centre for Independent Living (T.C.I.L) is coming along to give a talk about the Benefits that are available for both groups.
