SPORTS Solutions and Elev8 Developments recently invited members of the public to give their views on the relocation of Aveley Football Club.
The club’s vision is to create a purpose built facility to cater for the football club and wider community, made possible through the development and sale of their current ground at Mill Field. This will release value that can be invested in new, sustainable sports facilities. Mill Field had previously been identified by Thurrock Council as a suitable site for new housing, allowing proposals to comply with their emerging planning policy framework.
The recent public exhibition was held at Aveley Library, offering members of the public as well as local Councillors and dignitaries to give their opinion on the proposal.

Sports Solutions have been working with the club throughout the project, initially identifying the development partner and conducting feasibility work on the viability of the project. They have since provided a supporting role for the scheme at Belhus Park, which comprises a full-size floodlit football pitch, a full-size floodlit artificial turf pitch, as well as youth and junior pitches.
Both Aveley Football Club and Sports Solutions now await feedback from the public consultation, before aiming to submit planning applications for both the sports and residential developments in Autumn 2013.
