TODAY (Friday) Labour has unveield its candidates to fight the 2014 European Elections in the East of England.
Harriet Harman MP said:
“I am proud that such strong, committed and inspiring people have been picked by ordinary Labour Party members to be their MEP candidates in the East of England.
“Like the people they seek to represent, they come from all walks of life and from all the different communities who live here in the East of England.
“Unlike David Cameron whose first priority on Europe is appeasing the ever more extreme demands of Tory backbenchers, Labour MEPs will be a powerful One Nation voice who stand up for ordinary hardworking families.
“Their top priority is to be a strong voice in the European Parliament to make sure they get the best deal and bring jobs and growth here in the East of England”
Richard Howitt MEP said:
“Labour has announced an excellent list of candidates for the East of England. We have candidates from all across the region who bring a wealth of experience and talent, showing just how committed One Nation Labour is to winning in the East.
“People in the East of England have been badly let down by a Tory-led Government that is putting the wrong people first, giving a tax cut to millionaires at the same time as local families are on average £891 worse off.
“Only Labour are standing up for people in this region and fighting the damage being done by this Tory-led Government. Labour would guarantee a job for anyone in this region who has been out of work for more than two years, would open up the energy market, forcing companies to pass savings on to customers and would give the real prospect of getting the best deal for Britain in Europe.”

Not that I am an anorak, BUT…
*Ostrowski was the Norwich North by-election candidate in 2009, who lost to Chloe Smith.
*Joshi and Martin were John kent’s choice… always backing the winner (!)
UNITEs MEP top of Labour’s lists.
How did the Quisling Bannerman get so high on the list?
I’m not surprised the 3 existing MEPs are top of the list, followed by the only other person with serious experience (if google is to be believed)
Have the labour party taken over at Your Thurrock. They’re Euro tart’s, who cares. Probably the most undemocratic organisation outside North Korea. Vote for me but make sure you vote the right way or we’ll tell you to vote again until we get the answer we want. Why are we even giving this farce the credence it doesn’t deserve.
So Labour would guarantee jobs for those that have been umemployed for two years, pretty big promise there, can we just ask where these jobs would come from, and would they only be short term contracts, seems like Labour have joined the Magic Circle.
Richard is talking absolute rubbish as usual. He has not mentioned the fact that Labour will not give the public a say on their relationship with Europe despite the fact that he ‘represents’ one of the most Eurosceptic parts of the UK. As for his jobs and growth nonsense, I fail to see how he and his Labour MEP lapdogs are going to do so. A bit more detail would be lovely.
Unfortunately for Labour and the Tories in the East of England, and in particular Thurrock, UKIP will perform very well here and may even top the poll next May.
One thing Richard forgot to mention was the fact that the EU are paying Britsh companies a thousand euro’s a job to employ someone from the EU. Not content with mass immigration into this country, the Labour aprty are now supporting bribes to companies to sort out the unemployment problem in Europe. They care not a jot about the unemployed in this country. Absolutely disgusting.
EU Commision website EUERS has 1.4 million jobs advertised on it. 800,000 are vacancies in this country. Doesn’t it make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that our politicians are supporting people in this country being unemployed knowing full well this is going on.
