TWO Thurrock Council departments are working together to help local people complete their housing application online
Thurrock’s libraries are working in partnership with the housing department because new national rules has made it mandatory for all council tenants – new or old – to submit their applications online as well as ensuring their personal data is up to date.
This can be very difficult for any residents who do not have computers, or who have never used one before.
Although the housing team has already provided support for tenants from the beginning of the changes, the libraries team has joined in, encouraging the use of its free computers and extending its e-learning services as additional support.
Tenants who are having difficulties to complete and submit online can drop-in to these free sessions on Thursdays at Chadwell Library (01375 842511) between 10.30am and 1pm; and Corringham Library (01375 678534) between 2pm and 4.30pm.
The sessions are proving popular and getting busier, so to avoid disappointment it is best to call and book in advance as the number of computers is limited.
