FIRE CREWS tackled a fire in four acres of scrubland alongside the A13 near Orsett.
Crews used a hose reel jet, beaters and water backpacks to tackle the fire.
Update: The fire was extinguished by 14:52hrs.
Crews remained on scene at the junction of the A13 and the A1089 for a further 60 minutes turning over and damping down.
