A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital following a road traffic collision in Purfleet.

YT understands that the collision between a car and cyclist, occurred around 3.30pm.

The A1306 Arterial Road in Purfleet is closed at the A1090 Tank Hill Road junction, because of the accident.

An Essex police spokesman said: “We are at the scene of a serious road collision which is believed to involve a car and a cyclist.

“A woman has been taken to hospital by air and a police investigation is underway.”
