Corringham store to have licence reviewed after under-age sale

THURROCK COUNCIL’S Licensing committee are set to decide on the future licencing conditions of a Corringham store.

The item on the agenda reads:

“An application has been received from Charlotte Edwards, Principal Trading Standards Officer for Thurrock Council for the review of the premises licence at Allcures (t/a MACE), 19-21 Lampits Hill, Corringham, Essex, SS17 9AA under the licensing objective protection of children from harm.

“A further representation has been received from Essex Police.”

The review comes after a 15 year old girl (sent in by Thurrock Council) was sold a bottle of Vodka by a shop assistant on May 30th. The shop assistant was issued with a fine by Essex Police.

Thurrock Trading Standards are now requesting a number of amendments to their licence including: A refused alcohol book; further staff training and specifications on I.D.

The meeting will take place at 7pm on Wednesday August 21st at the Civic Offices, Grays.
