West Tilbury Women’s Institute: Sept Report

PRESIDENT Margaret Clamp told West Tilbury WI members that Gillian Morris and Nicky Nunn had resigned for family commitments. Both Gill and Nicky had been a great asset to the WI and we are sorry to see them go, we wish them well and hope they will return in the future. Members that went on the Bat Walk at Mucking Nature Reserve enjoyed the experience.

Subscriptions for next year will be raised to £34-70p. Many thought this was too much.

The AGM at Harlow has been cancelled for lack of support. Maybe if there were more events in this area members would attend. The resolutions are, Reduction of Plastic Bags and Regeneration of Town Centres.

Our speaker tonight was Sharon Jewel, who gave an interesting talk on the benefits of wearing magnetic jewellery.

The astronaut’s that returned from their space trips were out of the earth’s magnetic field and suffered ailments because of it. Wearing a magnetic bracelet improves BP. A magnet on the petrol tank is said to extend the volume.

The magnet cannot be worn if anyone has a pacemaker. Drinking water that has been treated with a magnetic device improves the blood and can help with acidity, cleans arteries and also detoxify the body. This was an interesting and informative talk. The evening ended with a leaning a new Craft.

Raffle prizes were won by, Joanne Phillips and Iris Crane.

The Competition: Most used Magnet, was won by Denise Nice.

West Tilbury meetings are every first Tuesday in the month at

West Tilbury Village Hall October 1st 2013 7pm –9-30pm.
