ST MARY’S, Dock Road, Little Thurrock has an interesting collection of old photos of the church and church hall and the people who have used them.
They have an old picture of the hall as a school 100 years ago and have some school attendance records.
There are plans for the extension that the Victorians added to the church and a photograph of a lady wearing a crinoline. She is standing in front of the church before the porch and west end extensions were added to it.
Their photos and other memorabilia will be in an exhibition on Sunday 29th September at 4.00pm. A tea will also be available.
The exhibition will include features on what the church is doing now and our plan for a future refurbishment which will improve our amenities and now has approval.
Have you any photos taken at St Mary’s Dock Road Little Thurrock? Maybe it was your child’s christening or your wedding?
Or do you have you any pictures of parties in the hall, brownies events, harvest suppers, or even going back in time, have you memorabilia of the time when it was a St Mary’s school?
We’d love to hear from you and see your old pictures.
Bring out your photo albums and share your memories with us.
The exhibition will conclude with “Songs of Praise” in the church at 6.00pm, Everybody Welcome. There is no charge.
