FA Trophy First Qualifying Round
Bognor Regis Town 2 v 1 Thurrock
THURROCK were always chasing the game after going behind after just twenty five seconds and must be wondering what could have been , they battled and won the second half but without success in front of goal.
After opening goal scored by Terry Dodd Thurrock had to thank keeper Reece Ottley for a number of saves as the Bognor forwards battered the Thurrock goal.
Thurrock levelled the score on 38 minutes when a cross was flicked in by Jordon Clark from around the penalty area.
Then just as half time approached a Thurrock lapse saw Terry Dodd once again pounce onto a free ball and blasted the ball home from close range.
In the second period Thurrock pushed forward but could not break down the Bognor back four and when Lewwis Spence received his second yellow Thurrock had just 15 minutes remaining with ten men.
Despite throwing men forward they just could not find enough to get the required equaliser and at the final whistle a relieved Bognor eleven progressed into the next round.
