THAMES 21 will be holding their second big beach clean up on Saturday 26 October between 11am and 2.30pm and will meet up next to Thurrock Yacht Club to get ready to do battle with the Thames mud.
The group are inviting volunteers along to help clean up the Grays beach and foreshore area and all equipment will be provided – including wellies, litter pickers, on–site hand washing facilities and some essential light refreshments.
Thames21 is one of the country’s leading waterway charities. They work with communities across Greater London to improve our rivers, canals, ponds and lakes for people and wildlife and their work in Thurrock is being supported by the council who will be disposing of the rubbish collected by volunteers.
Everyone is welcome, but under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult and anyone that does attend should wear old clothing bearing in mind both the weather conditions and the possibility of getting muddy.
